BENEFITS TO THE COMMUNITY

Setiawangsa Rangers FC has organised the Tunas Mentari program which combines the concepts of education and football. This program gives an impact to the local community to produce people who are knowledgeable and active in sports. Other than that, the club has also organised Setiawangsa Sports Carnival which involves all sections of society ranging from children to adults. Among the programs that were implemented are Fun Run 5km, Under 12 Football Championship, Push Bike Competition, and 3-a-side Basketball Championship.

FOOTBALL CLINIC
WITH WAN KUZAIN

Setiawangsa Rangers Football Club organized a Football Clinic with Wan Kuzain on 5th December 2019. This program is under the Embassy of the United States. Wan Kuzain is a Footballer who plays in the United States Major League Soccer (MLS). Previously, Wan Kuzain had participated in the Malaysian football training camp in preparation for the Sea Games in the Philippines.

Wan Kuzain attended the Cruyff Court Futsal Court at PPR Kg Baru Air Panas, Setapak to launch the Football Clinic Program. Wan Kuzain officiated the program accompanied by the Honorable Tuan Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, Member of Parliament for Setiawangsa and Patron of Setiawangsa Rangers Football Club. Also present was Mr. Khushairi Aizad Jamalludin, President and Embassy of the United States.

A total of 25 players have participated in this football clinic and were taught by Wan Kuzain the teaching techniques related to the basics of football such as Passing, Dribbling, Juggling, Running, Shooting, & Endurance.

TUNAS MENTARI SETIAWANGSA RANGERS

Tunas Mentari Setiawangsa Rangers is an educational program that combines Education and Co-curriculum, namely Sports, especially Football. At the outset, the program will focus on targeted groups ranging in age from 9 to 11. Setiawangsa Rangers Football Club plays an important role in providing exposure to Academic and Football knowledge to children in the Setiawangsa Parliament, especially the areas that have been identified.

— TUNAS MENTARI (FOOTBALL CLINIC)

The implementation of the Football Clinic Program is a basic football learning program. This program will teach football preliminary techniques such as Passing, Dribbling, Juggling, Running, Shooting, & Endurance.

— TUNAS MENTARI (TUITION)

The implementation of the Education Program will create a tuition center in the PPR area of Kg. Hot water. The program focuses on basic subjects such as Bahasa Melayu, English, Mathematics and Science.

GRASSROOT FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT

On 3rd March 2019, Setiawangsa Rangers Football Club organized the Under 12 and Under 17 Football Tournaments. A total of 12 teams participated in this tournament and a total of 200 players were involved throughout the tournament.

The tournament is held to hone young talents and give exposure to players in football tournaments. In addition, this tournament gives players the opportunity to showcase their existing talents and to be featured at a higher level.

Setiawangsa Rangers Football Club has collaborated with the Kg. Baru Air Panas and Yayasan Hasanah.

SETIAWANGSA SPORTS FESTIVAL

On 26th October 2020, Setiawangsa Rangers Football Club organized the Setiawangsa Sports Carnival in conjunction with the National Sports Month in 2019. The Setiawangsa Rangers Football Club played an important role as the main organizer in the Setiawangsa area in collaboration with the Setiawangsa Parliamentary Office, Setiawangsa Area Youth and Sports Office, Agencies governments, NGOs, Population Representative Councils, schools, Institutes of Higher Learning and associations.

Among the programs and activities that were implemented are the Under 12 Football Sports Carnival, 5KM Fun Run, Push Bike Competition, 3 on 3 Basketball Competition, Exhibitions and Stalls, Artist Performance and Lucky Draw. This carnival involves all ages that can be attended.

The goal of this program is to encourage the community to be active in sports activities with the aim of producing intelligent, fit and healthy people. Also, to cultivate and raise a deep awareness within the local community to make sports as an element to generate health continuously and make sports a culture in daily life.

NIK NAZMI CUP 16

On 1st December to 22nd December 2018, the Setiawangsa Rangers Football Club has organized the Nik Nazmi Under 16 Cup Football Tournament at the Setiawangsa Sports Complex field. The tournament lasted for almost a month with 240 players involved. The tournament can unearth new talents that can be featured on a higher level. The tournament involves 12 competing teams divided into 4 groups.

Felda United Football Club became the Champion in the First Edition of the Nik Nazmi Cup after beating the Hotspurs Air Panas Sports Club with a score of 2-0. The tournament will showcase new talent and provide exposure to the players for healthy competition in this tournament. This tournament received coverage from the print and electronic media and was the first tournament held by the Rangers Setiawangsa Football Club.
